Today, on 3rd March 1878, Russia and the Ottoman Empire signed the Treaty of San Stefano, making #Bulgaria an autonomous principality, ending 500 years of Ottoman slavery.

#NorthMacedonia continues its sinking into the swamp of political timelessness.
After the nationalists from #VMRO -DPMNE, now their supposedly pro-EU #Albanian partners from #VLEN are stopping the inclusion of the local #Bulgarians in the country's constitution.
They live in #Macedonia for centuries' but are subject of discrimination. Their inclusion in the constitution, along with other nationalities, is a requirement of the EU for the start of membership negotiations.
