Bug fedipeople,

Edit: pretty sure it's a conifer seed beetle. No need for id I guess unless you know different.
Please can someone help id this bug for me?

INaturalist says it's a Leptoglossus and that several species are of economic importance, and one species, L. chilensis, has been reported to bite humans.
I hope your Sunday is a peaceful one.

Ok, need some #bugidentification help here. I've been having large, odd #bugs showing up in my bathroom. Don't know where they're coming from, but they seem solitary. They're black with some patches, narrow, and about an inch (25 mm) long, with transparent wings. They seem to have pretty poor vision as I've had no difficulty squashing them (unlike flies, for example).

anybody able to identify these? hundreds of them in one of meats' houseplants. just the one, though. i can't tell if they're insects or arachnids at this size, and this is as good as my phone can do

edit: consensus seems to be aphids! further research suggests they may be root aphids. they do kinda look like soil mites, too, though… meats sprayed em with neem so if it's a problem it prob won't be for long

Was watering my very dry balcony plants when this little guy popped up out of the soil and started flailing about. not a clue what it is. it moves like a caterpillar, but its head is pointy...? anyone any idea if it's a good bug or a bad bug?

edit: with help of ObsIdentify (thanks @Frieke72!) I think I found a hoverfly larva!
Presumably this species: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrphus_ribesii
Which is good news as they munch on aphids, which my plants are covered in! 🥲👍
Thanks for boosting everyone!

The mysterious insect eggs I found in my garden hatched! Very likely they are Giant leaf-footed bugs.

Anyone have an idea what laid these eggs on my native Mountain Mint? I've never seen anything like them.

We saw lots of these dragonflies or damselflies near a boggy area. The pictures didn't capture their iridescence and how they looked flitting about in the sunshine. There have been some hard frosts, so I was surprised to see them out. Can anyone identify these? This was in Black Moshannon State Park in central #pennsylvania #question #bugidentification #dragonfly #damselfly

@MixBluets Variegated Meadowhawk fits much better than Violet Dropwing. I'm not sure though. Dragonflies are hard. What I know is that Google is pretty bad at this. I recommend iNaturalist or Seek (which is the same database anyway).
