It’s #BarWeek in #BuffaloWY. Last night was the smokey bar and I had a good conversation with a gal whose son died. Tonight I had a good talk with a guy who says he’ll come to church because I spend time in bars.
Two more nights to go, but it’s shaping up to be a good week.

It’s getting to be just like the big city out here.

It’s #BarWeek in #BuffaloWY. That means I spend one night at a different bar in town just hanging out. Sometimes it’s just me and I go home early. Sometimes I have a really good conversation with a patron and go home late. And sometimes, like last night, I listen to a very drunk individual tell me how often he’s been to my church when I know darn well he hasn’t. But I’ve also learned to not argue with a drunk.

I’ve been in #BuffaloWY for less than a year. We restarted the youth group sometime in late winter or early spring. But in that short time I have been privileged and honored to have been entrusted with some difficult conversations from some of those young people.

Just over a year ago a parishioner sent me the profile for a small church in #BuffaloWY. I wasn’t looking at the time, but it’s where I ended up.
I’m heading back east for vacation and I’m going to pay a visit to her and gift her with a Buffalo, WY ball cap.

In #BuffaloWY the temps have been ranging from -30 (overnight low) to 0 (daytime high). In short, it’s been COLD.
I normally greet people outside at the front doors before service.
I’ll be greeting people inside this Sunday.

Tonight was my second #BarVisit in #BuffaloWY. This bar was non-smoking, so that’s a plus. I also had a long and varied conversation with a patron. All in all, it was a good night.

I’m in Pierre, SD (pronounced Peer) picking up the recumbent trike I had to leave behind in the move to #BuffaloWY when my car died and it wouldn’t fit into the car I had to buy.
