Dragon Ball ha tenido innumerables juegos desde que el manga y el anime explotaron en Japón. Muchos se quedaron en Japón, pero pudimos disfrutar de muchos otros como los RPG de GBA, Final Bout de PS1, la trilogía Budokai de PS2 y por supuesto: la trilogía Tenkaichi.

Bandai Namco estaba preparando su nueva saga de videojuegos para PS2, pero esta vez no contaría con #Dimps, desarrolladora de #Budokai y #Xenoverse (y de muchos otros juegos como #StreetFighter, algún #SwordArtOnline y #SoulCalibur), sino que contarían con #Spike. Una desarrolladora que nadie conocería tiempo después hasta crear #Danganronpa, creyendo la gente que este sería su mayor éxito después de fusionarse y formar #SpikeChunsoft.

Muchas personas creen que Tenkaichi fue un derivado de Budokai de los mismos creadores, pero no es así. Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi tiene un nombre original en Japón, y este es Dragon Ball Z Sparking. La razón por la cual en occidente se bautizó Budokai Tenkaichi no fue nada más ni nada menos que para aprovechar el éxito de la trilogía Budokai, la mayor trilogía de Dragon Ball hasta la llegada de #Sparking.
