In this house the #budgies / #budgerigars live majority of the time outside their cage...
Sometimes called #parakeets... i thought somehow parakeet was a word closer to the indigenous term for it.. but it seems to be the contrary:

new birdy 🩵

pretty sure his name is Barry.

he's been with us nearly a week, quarantined in his own cage in a room away from the other budgies, as is standard procedure when adding another bird to the mix. just in case he's got cooties, don't want him getting the others ill. 30 days ideally. but they can all hear each other and much tweeting is happening.

he's super weird though. mostly sits very quiet all day, but then come early evening he suddenly loses his mind and squawks and jumps all over the cage and runs around. like clockwork. once he gets it outta his system it's back to just sitting there.
