I don't particularly 'love' the '#Brits'
the reason,,, I know them, I lived and studied in the #UK
but
one thing to underline is that the #UK people
(even if they still accept social classism)
have a really 'short' tolerance for corruption or obvious immorality
(and that is good)
For this reason I have always wondered...
how is it possible that a shit like #Farage
isn't already a guest of English prisons?
How is it possible
that a corrupt crook piece of shit like Farage is still 'free' in UK?

Question: Are there cases in the UK where locals start, for fun, pronouncing words the way they are spelled if they were english and not how they are actually pronounced. I spent probably a decade calling it the Thaims river when I would read it in a book before I ever heard it pronounced. Purposely mispronouncing words can be funny, just like how using grammar like Gollum or Yoda can be funny. One of the things my partner and I have gotten into the habit of out of a joke is to say "Sest la vy". We know its pronounced c'est la vie its just funny to say with an English spelling. It may be more natural in the US to do this just because we have a lot of borrowed city names that are mispronounced and now are just their names. Both Indiana and Kentucky have a Versailles, and its pronounced the way its read if it were an English words, Ver-sails. Of course thanks to Donkey from Shrek I will now on occasion refer to it as Worcestershire sauce too.
