I am testing a pattern and to my absolute surprise I don't have any suitable fabric in my stash. And it's Sunday which means my usual go-to stores for cheap fabric (The Sewing Lair and Tradway) are closed. I am a very NOW person and this is killing me. So I've tried to go to Spotlight's site and it's not working??? Is this a sign to just... wait?

I need a heavy drill or similar and Spotlight's drill is not ideal at all but it exists on a Sunday. So does Lincraft but it's a great deal further to travel. There's also East Coast Textiles but I've never found drill there.

Sewists in #brisbane, #logan and #southeastqueensland need to go to Tradways at Stapleton. They are basically a liquidation retailer and they have a bunch of craft fabrics (or quilting fabric) and some fashion fabrics that aren't terribly trendy but the basics are good. They also have a habby section that is basically my life saver. I went there today to pick up more woven fusible interfacing - for a nice midweight it's $6.50/m compared to $14-20/m at Spotlight.

Buttons come in traditional tubes and you buy them per button - ones I bought today were 15c each! They have trims that start at 60c/m!! Zips from $1.50 - even metal teeth and long ones!

They also have cheap curtains - a huge wall of them are premade, and then another section of cut and sew curtaining. Upholstery! Vinyl! Also workwear, tools and other completely random shit!

This has been #frugalsewing corner.
