Dylan's "Bringing It All Back Home" released this day in 1965. In 1979 Rolling Stone Record Guide critic Dave Marsh wrote: "By fusing the Chuck Berry beat of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles with the leftist, folk tradition of the folk revival, Dylan really had brought it back home, creating a new kind of rock & roll [...] that made every type of artistic tradition available to rock."

I ain’t gonna work for MAGA’s ma no more

I ain’t gonna work on MAGA’s farm no more
No, I ain’t gonna work on MAGA’s farm no more
Well, I try my best
To be just like I am
But everybody wants you
To be just like them
They say sing while you slave and I just get bored
I ain’t gonna work on MAGA’s farm no more…

Hope you don’t mind, Bob Dylan,
I borrowed this
Bastardised it a bit
to reflect our times
I think you know how it goes…
Yeah I think you know well how it goes.

I ain’t gonna work on MAGA’s farm no more
No, I ain’t gonna work on MAGA’s farm no more
Well, I wake in the morning
Fold my hands and watch reality drain
I got a head full of ideas
That are drivin’ me insane
It’s a shame the way they bow to him on the floor…

Dylan's "Bringing It All Back Home" released this day in 1965. That's all I have to say about this album. I can't contribute anything of consequence to the troves of what has already been written.

I’m not particularly lucky, but then I stumble across this at a local second hand store, sealed, for £14.99.

& so I’m #NowSpinning #BringingItAllBackHome by #BobDylan courtesy of #MobileFidelity.

This is just one of two missing entries in my #MoFi Dylan collection, & so I’m really happy to have this.

But how does it sound? Compared with a 1st UK stereo, it’s an improvement. Against an early UK mono, it’s less definitive. But what an album.
