Heute gibt es wieder größeren Lesestoff als Missing Link von mir bei Heise Online. Ich gehe der Frage nach, wann gibt es in den USA echten Hochgeschwindigkeitsverkehr Verkehr. Das größte Potenzial sehe ich bei der Brightline West zwischen LA und Las Vegas. Der Rest sieht schlecht aus.

In October 2018 I had the very first chance to try out a high speed rail system in the US. Well, technically higher speed rail. The diesel-powered Brightline trainsets were a lot of fun. What a difference to typical trains in the US by Amtrak it was. And look at those diesel locos from my lounge view. :)

#Brightline , the only privately run inter-city rail route in the United States that keeps getting handouts from government is in bad financial position.

They mainly offer service in Florida right now but are planning extension in California/Nevada

At #DisneyWorld they are adding more roads, specifically at the Polynesian resort. They should be building a light rail line connecting all their resorts and parks which will be connected to the future #Brightline station near Disney Springs, not building to bring in more cars.
