It takes me a long time to solidify a habit and posting in this dev blog is probably going to be no different for me, but at least I've made some progress here on this screen! Most of what's to easily show off is aesthetic improvements, but there's bug fixes too, haha.

I've envisioned the setting as a city full of signage in any language you can think of. Problem is there are so many languages and I can ACTUALLY speak… two.

Right now my partner's working very hard on menus and the battle system. It's one of the big humps we have to get over before we can start building a demo and the rest of the game. I, meanwhile, probably have to draw thousands of sprites. And cars. So many cars.

There's little work to show off lately aside from the neverending slog of sprite sheets for the playable characters, but progress is progressing. Maybe we'll have a battle enemy to show off in the next couple days.

I'm starting to get an all-right hand for doing walkcycles, even 8-direction ones. But this is the chick who's never going to live down the time she beat the crap out of a security robot (which, in her defense, had been improperly programmed and wasn't going to let her into her actual place of residence), and doing all of THOSE frames is way outside my comfort zone.

(usual disclaimer: "outside my comfort zone" doesn't mean I can't do it, but it does mean it probably took me a really long time relative to other things and was probably a little frustrating lol)
