so, i've decided to stop bridging with bridgy, but keep crossposting with openvibe. also, considering switching to microblog, so i can have my own domain there as well. we'll see.

Agreed — of the hundreds of people I followed on Bluesky before moving back to Mastodon, only one account had already enabled the bridge when I searched. I've also found that sending Bridgy invites (by DMing Bluesky handles to Bridgy Fed) has been a total waste of time so far.
That said, most of my interactions with bridged Bluesky users happen when their posts randomly hit my timeline through saved hashtags.
Bluesky has a lot of political and journalist folks I like, but is hostile to non-party streams of thought. Mastodon has a lot of tech folks I like plus features I like that Bluesky doesn't have. I've used brid.gy to link my Mastodon account, but I'm having difficulty finding Bluesky folks who have bridged their accounts.
TIL... you probably shouldn't use Mastodon's "delete and re-draft" function to fix typos in replies to bridged Bluesky mutuals. It works perfectly here but creates an orphaned thread on their side.🤦🏿♂️
Hey Bluesky friends! If you're reading this on the butterfly site, please make sure you're also following @ap.brid.gy! I can't follow you back or interact with your posts without this because this account is actually bridged from #Mastodon via #BridgyFed.
