@TimWardCam @jbond I believe it. What a profound shortcoming in a politician. Pragmatic people adjust their position when confronted with fresh evidence or determined & significant opposition. An inability to do that is simple bone-headedness. Even Trump exhibits the pragmatism of a political animal. Bonehead May was a gift to the #Brexiters & a tragedy for the UK. She still sits in our Legislature as an appointee with the aura of elder stateswoman. If she had any insight she'd emigrate in shame

Recall how the #Brexiters frightened so many of us Brits into their nets in 2016 with (false) talk of a European Army.

A countervailing argument was "that would be to undermine NATO".

We should understand the implication of what has just happened, by the speeches of #Vance & #Hegseth & the US decision to treat with Putin; NATO credibility is finished. What remains is a name only.

A prudent response by European Leaders would be the prompt mustering of the core-cadre of a European Army.
