Since I do not bake for the public, but my own meals, this post is a bit late. I do two loaves at the same time, to economize on electricitity. In fron a mix of wheat and spelt, in the background rhye and wheat. Irish Soda Bread with a Twist 🍞 for #fotovorschlag "Das tägliche Brot" / "The Daily Bread"

I love making odd loaves! This is a cheddar cheese, pistachio and molasses soda bread. I can't eat it myself but the victims say they have enjoyed it. 😂

250g plain flour
10g salt
15g sodium bicarbonate
150g wholemeal flour
25g wheat bran
150g oat flakes
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp molasses
500ml buttermilk (or add some lemon juice to whole milk and wait for it to curdle.
As much cheddar cheese (in small cubes) and pistachios as you want! (And pumpkin seeds on top of you want some extra crunch)
These are approximative honestly, as I always end up adding a little more milk, flour, oats, bran etc 😂

Heat oven to 200 C.
Combine all dry ingredients together in a bowl.
Then maake a little hole in the centre and add the wet ingredients.
Mix them together by hand until it's holds pretty much together (it's a wet dough).
Then flour your hands and shape it into a circle.
Place it on a baking sheet.
Cut a cross in it.
In the oven for about 45 minutes or until it sounds hollow when you hit the bottom.
Take it out and place it on a rack with a damp cloth on it. And that's it! ✨
