Just baked. Serious ear! 🀣

I thought it was going to be a dud because the bulk fermentation was turgid but it all changed in the proving.

With the cooler weather I finally get to bake some #sourdough in the main oven again without fighting the air conditioning. A few loaves are just finishing up. Pics momentarily.

My starters have been feeling neglected.

Finally made the effort (and did the hand kneading) and made my own bread. A modest but very tasty 'Farmer's Bread'.
Now to keep this up & experiment further 🍞πŸ₯–

The cinnamon raisin loaf.

Seems it needs considerably more cinnamon to make a conspicuous swirl but I'm not willing to dump in pounds of the stuff as American Youtube cooks seem prone to do. 🀣 🍞🍽️🍜

Okay, bread turns out much nicer if I keep a tray of water in the oven.

Maybe don't do it in a double boiler way next time, but I kinda like having the contrast, crunchy crust on top where it can go wild with the tearing, and soft on the bottom where it's all smooth.

Made my first attempt at home made bread courtesy of this recipe from One Dish Kitchen:

I haven't sliced into it yet to see how I did, but it smells lovely! I think it feels pretty dense, though, so I might have to work on ratios or something. We'll see!
