Every month I write a Brave Writer Dart, a craft-and-mechanics literature guide about some absolute gem of a middle-grade novel. The one I turned in yesterday was about Eve L. Ewing's MAYA AND THE ROBOT, one of my favorite reads of the year. Made me laugh *and* cry, which is the very best thing a book can do.
