The #EPA on Friday weakened #pollution limits for #coal burning power plants, allowing them to release more #HeavyMetals including #mercury, a powerful #neurotoxin linked to #BrainDamage.

The move was one of many efforts by the #Trump admin to revive the declining US coal industry, despite overwhelming scientific evidence that burning coal is harming #PublicHealth & driving dangerous levels of #GlobalWarming. Coal is the dirtiest of the #FossilFuels.

Friend who I have not heard from a while calls me on the phone. She wants to know what I made of the halftime show. I say my piece and she recounts how she was followed by a group of angry looking rednecks the day of for driving and blasting bad bunny. She then tells me she calls one of her cop buddies and lets him know where she is. She says “I’m friends with cops now!”

I thought about it - this is a person who is not that politically astute. Do I launch into my ACAB rant and explain that there is no such thing as a cop who is a “friend” to the working people and potentially prolong this call far longer than I need to, or do I let it slide?

I decided to let it and let her know I’m doing flashcards and that I’d call her later. I think I made the right choice. #BrainDamage #Superbowl
