My understanding is that John Fetterman is, among other things, a landlord. One of my passengers was outraged that he was renting apartments in downtown Braddock for, if memory serves, $650 per month.
That’s not a high rent in #Pittsburgh generally, but #Braddock is a distressed community. Even with a piece of the U.S. Steel Edgar Thomson works, it still looks like a lot of communities afflicted by redlining and the collapse of the steel industry. There are about three blocks that have been redeveloped (I wasn’t here when Fetterman was Braddock’s mayor so I don’t know if he had anything to do with this); the rest is either blight or just this side of blight.
