"The north eastern end of the crag has its own jumble of gritstone boulders and outcrops. In the middle distance is the white farmhouse at Owlshaw with Pen-y-ghent (left) and Fountains Fell rising on the skyline above."

@metoffice Nope, just tracked things on Met Office radar. Storms don't move that fast. Whatever I saw, was over Lancaster, Bowland, Fylde kind of direction. Anyone Blackpool or Lancaster have a storm about 16:00? #blackpool #lancaster #bowland #fylde

This is a challenging walk best done after a dry spell. The Hareden Fell Circuit - Including Fair Snape Fell and Totridge in #Lancashire. Great views and a real sense of South Pennines bleakness. Details at tinyurl.com/2dnpazv2

Here’s a short video of Small Pearl-bordered #Fritillaries (Boloria selene) from this summer.

One of my favourites #butterflies: their brilliant orange colour as they flash by, low to the ground, always raises my spirits. We’re lucky that there’s a thriving population in a boggy area just 10 minutes drive from home, on the edge of the Forest of #Bowland.

Into my second day on Mastodon and still confused, but finding I’m liking it more and more…

A bit about me. Volunteer on #wildflower #meadow restoration projects in #Lancaster area and the #LuneValley. Trustee for Hermitage Field Community Meadow at the Crook O’Lune. Volunteer with @savebutterflies and #CumbriaWildlifeTrust. #walking in #Bowland, #Arnside, #Silverdale and #LakeDistrict.
