Some Quotes
Variable names begin with a letter and consist of letters, digits, and underscores. Shell variables may be given values when a shell procedure is invoked. An argument to a shell procedure of the form name = value causes value to be assigned to name before execution of the procedure begins. The value of name in the invoking shell is not affected. Such names are sometimes called keyword parameters. Keyword parameters may also be exported from a procedure by saying, for example, export user box Modification of such variables within the called procedure does not affect the values in the calling procedure. (It is generally true of a UNIX process that it may not modify the environment of its caller without explicit request on the part of that caller. Files and shared file descriptors are the exceptions to this rule.) A name whose value is intended to remain constant throughout a procedure may be declared readonly.

Because this is a light book I will hunt for more in depth books on shells

In the Footsteps of Jason Bourne 🕵️ A Journey into Cinematic History
It's due to the seclusion and natural beauty of Palolem beach that this location was chosen for the shooting of the 2nd Jason Bourne movie.

Cape Cod Space Force Station (42 mi), Bourne MA photographed from Buck Hill.
Yes, you can see to Cape Cod from Buck Hill, but just barely. I took this photo almost two years ago and have been trying ever since to get a better image of this site, but without success. I decided to try to do some enhancement to this image, and I felt the result was reasonably good.
This station is located on Flatrock Hill in Bourne MA. This image shows four wind turbines located at the station. The two turbines on the left are almost right on top of each other, so their turbine blades appear to overlap a bit. Just to the left of these, I believe is the outline of the Early Warning Radar facility, which is a huge building. There is no 3D Google Earth imagery of this, but based on the shadows of the 2D image, this building is of similar height to the wind turbine towers.
The cell or communication tower (23.88 mi) located between the two wind turbines on the right is on Joe Freitas Way, Plympton MA

GNU Bash, as it's
default one, but nevertheless I try hard to avoid bashisms, writing scripts compatible with any POSIX-compliant shell and tools.

London is the capital and largest city of both England and the United Kingdom, with a population of 9.1 million people in 2024. Its wider metropolitan area is the largest in Western Europe, with a population of 15.1 million. London stands on the River Thames in southeast England, at the head of a 50-mile (80 km) tidal estuary down to the North Sea, and has been a major settlement for nearly 2,000 years. Its ancient core and financial centre, the City of London, was founded by the Romans as Londinium and has retained its medieval boundaries. The City of Westminster, to the west of the City of London, has been the centuries-long host of the national government and parliament. London grew rapidly in the 19th century, becoming the world's largest city at the time. Since the 19th century the name "London" has referred to the metropolis around the City of London, historically split between the counties of Middlesex, Essex, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire, which since 1965 has largely comprised the administrative area of Greater London, governed by 33 local authorities and the Greater London Authority.
