It’s a two-fer #stout Friday!
Entry 1 is Anderson Valley bourbon barrel stout. I guess the “malt beverage” label should have tipped me off. A weak stout at best and hardly a hint of bourbon barrel aging. Overly carbonated, very pedestrian to my tastes. Not sure why the Total Wine staff said it was good.
Entry 2 is Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Imperial Milk Stout.
A respectable milk stout with an oddly sweet overnote to the bourbon. I can’t quite place the nose, but it’s not entirely pleasant. Improves as it warms but will not make the repeat list.
