It's always nice to see this yarn-bombed bench back in the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow. The knitted and crocheted cover has been present from April until October each year since 2017 and is a tribute to the knitter's mother.

Day 2 in #Belfast. Spent the morning cheering on my wife who was competing in the #BelfastMarathon
We walked through the city center during the race, and stopped by #stgeorgesmarket to browse the shops and grab a snack. It was well organized and there was a good variety of food stalls.
After the race, I snuck out with one of my teens to see inside the #palmhouse in the #botanicgardens while my wife was showering and resting.
We finish the day with a #pizza dinner and saw #projecthailmary

In January 1914, the Kibble Palace was targetted by members of Women's Social and Political Union, who had their Scottish headquarters at 141 Bath Street in the city centre, as part of their campaign for the right of women to be able to vote. Two bombs were planted, one of which exploded, shattering a number of panes of glass and injurying a member of staff.

Created by John Kibble, the Kibble Palace was originally built at Coulport on the shores of Loch Long in the 1860s before being taken apart, moved to Glasgow and re-built at its current location in the 1870s.
