One of my absolute favourite records.
‘Delta Bound’ in particular – a tribute to the Deep South – is magical. It was with this song that I first realised there are other instruments besides the guitar, such as the clarinet. Rosetta’s songs are about loose women and bad boys, about drugs and alcohol abuse. Classic everyday themes, in other words. If the crackling bothers you, you can always listen to AI music. There’s no such thing as that annoying freedom there… it’s your choice.

One of my favorite drinks is the Grumpy Old Man. Bourbon, ginger ale and a splash of lime juice. Tonight I was at the store and impulse bought a bottle of Squirt soda, which I have probably not had in 30 years. Decided it might work as a replacement for ginger ale when I got home. I was right. What do I call this drink?

60 mL Havana Club Especial #Rum
120 mL Coca cola (cane sugar sweetened; made in USA - not sure where)
Lime juice from wedge.

Must say this is a stiffer drink than I typically make (I like it!) - but given the rum I went with Havana Club proportions.

Opening up some of my #Mexico bottle haul!
Picked up the Nixta and it has terrific long flavor - but rather sweet up front (I can see why old fashioneds with it in lieu of sugar would be great).

Tried the Palabra Caliente* #cocktail (skipped the 🍒) also with the Ancho liqueuer. Hmm this is good but less corn forward (and too much ancho but not as spicy) as I thought it would be. Used the last of my Vega elote #mezcal (Espadin) for it.
