I have enjoyed listening to Blair Braverman on #YoureWrongAbout podcast telling detailed survival and disaster stories. I'm subscribed to her new podcast #WhatToCarryWhatToBurn. I'm waiting for the story of Ada to finish and plan to listen to the episodes all at once.
It's for this reason I was excited to see she wrote a novel. I bought and read it all in one day. I'm still processing the events, the characters and how I feel about them. I recommend it highly for anyone who's enjoyed her work telling real-life stories. It builds on reality to explore what that means in today's reality TV and how people deal with group dynamics and uncertainty in the entertainment context as well as true survival.
I was disappointed the author didn't read her own work, but Kristen Sieh did a great job with the characters and keeping me in the story.
