Someone has gained access to Booking dot com's servers. While the company takes a cut from 28 million properties around the world, RNZ reports:
"It is not known how many customers have been affected, nor whether credit card details have been compromised."
However the company has emailed affected parties saying the information accessed could include "booking details, names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, and anything that you may have shared with the property".
Does that "anything" include credit card details?
But at the same time: Booking has the worst UX similar to the desperate clowns from Temu, RyanAir or alike.
No, that is not the best deal. No, there were no 48 people looking at that property in last hour. No this is not limited time offer.
At some point in time it happened that virtually everything on AirBnB became more expensive than on Booking.
Just in case you were still on the "neighbour's free room" lie train.
What's this nonsense?
I've had a suggestion from Booking.com that I bid to upgrade one of the rooms on my hotel in a week's time.
If they're going to start with this, then I'll try another site - or better still, start booking direct.
« Dans les colonies israéliennes illégales de #Cisjordanie, les plateformes #Airbnb et Booking.com continuent de proposer des dizaines d’hébergements. Des associations ont déposé plainte contre elles. En France, un collectif s’apprête à saisir la justice. La pression des ONG s’accroît. »

When I contacted Booking dot com over a year ago about a bullshit listing that looked like they were trying to steal my identity, Booking dot com said there was no crime and nothing they could do because my booking had been canceled by the scammer.
Well, that's good to know. All taken care of. No crimes here.
What's what, you say? There ARE crimes being committed on Booking dot com?
