Paget’s Disease affects bone health by causing abnormal breakdown and formation of bone tissue, leading to weakened and deformed bones. Most symptoms appear after age 50, often affecting the spine, skull, pelvis, and femur. Early diagnosis and treatment with bisphosphonates can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

This January 11, join us in raising awareness about this condition by wearing royal blue, sharing facts, and supporting those affected.

Let’s spread knowledge and support together! 💙

I remember a patient, let's call her Sarah, who came in a while back. She’d been managing her chronic kidney disease (CKD) for years, but lately, she'd noticed this nagging ache in her hips. #bonedisease #bonemetabolism #ChronicKidneyDisease #KidneyHealth #mineralimbalance #parathyroidhormone #RenalOsteodystrophy

Study of rare bone disease reaches important milestone

Progress by a UMass Chan Medical School researcher in developing a gene therapy for a rare, crippling bone disease has reached an important milestone with demonstration of proof-of-concept in a humanized mouse model of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) and human FOP patient-derived cells. The research is published in Nature Communications.
