Mit seinem pelzigen Körper und dem langen Saugrüssel erinnert der Große Wollschweber eher an eine Mischung aus Hummel und Kolibri. Trotz seines friedlichen Auftretens legt er seine Eier in die Nester von Wildbienen, wo seine Larven sich von deren Vorräten ernähren.

Looks like a bee, but this is mimicry.

The large bee-flies (Bombylus major) are always fun to watch. Their proboscis appears to be almost as long as the fly itself.
