I'm giving a try to #bombadillo and already like it very much.
"Bombadillo is a non-web browser, designed for a growing list of protocols operating outside of the web."
Interesting tool discovered: With #Bombadillo I can move in the #gemini and #gopher world at the same time. It's fun, although useless rabble spread their dirt even in these two sparsely populated areas.
I think it's a shame that the two protocols stand in each other's way, even though both pursue a very laudable goal. In addition to #http, A purely text-based network would certainly make more sense.
The Gemini protocol was a big part of my COVID-19 lockdown experience. Discovering this underground, small protocol, having long discussions on the mailing list, and most importantly for me, developing software. My terminal Gemini browser, Amfora, was my first public FOSS project, something actually intended for a wider audience to use. It succeeded beyond my expectations (but within my hopes), and I’m proud to say it now has thousands of downloads.
That's an interesting way to say you're on the latest page thus you can't go forward in history.
bombadillo no worky now on SDF wtf?
!!!edit: I figured out how to install bomba on this 'puter, AND boom...
"Found "gem.sdf.org", expected EOF"
hmmm...
