So today something closer to home than usual. For those of you familiar with Lindow Man from the @BritishMuseum, this is where he was found 40 years ago in North Cheshire close to Wilmslow. BTW, there were two further bodies of the Roman period found in the same area. The Bog is currently undergoing environmental restoration work, I will keep you posted on the slow (!) progress.

On my next trip #home to #Ireland my mam has us pencilled in to visit the #NationalMuseum to find out some more information on #BogBodies

Do any #MastoDaoine have any info on if there is a database of such finds in Ireland - especially non ancient ones (one was found in my mam's village about 70 years ago, I believe from the ~1600s).

What about remains from the 1800s, especially the famine: have they been mummified yet and if so, what happens to these bodies if found?
