Things like life-saving surgery and medicines make sense to me. We obviously take an animal to the vet because we care about them.
But when you look at it through the lens of #eugenics, it’s very creepy. In the USA, we have been putting disabled, 2SLGBTQIA+, and people of color into asylums and castrating/genitally mutilating them without consent. Because people don’t think they should procreate based on white/masculine/human supremacy.
I think if it had to be done, temporary #oralcontraceptives would be a better option. You could easily put it into food and then if they are #rewilded they would gain the ability to procreate back after some time.
I think if there are animals in need we should be focused on building new #animalshelters and #wildlifepreservations so that these animal's natural eco systems can THRIVE. For the animals that must live with us through no fault of their own, we should give them and their #bodilyautonomy and the utmost #respect (Continued in thread)

Really interesting stuff. Living in a not so great place for my reproductive rights is genuinely scary. Since becoming an #antinatalist this past year I can say that I would get sterilized, if the procedure was safer. You can read in the article about this, but women’s healthcare is shamefully under researched and funded, like many #sexist things in this world. I would feel a lot safer if my partner were to get a vasectomy instead, personally.
I’m also interested in how the conversation of #bodilyautonomy and #reproductiverights relates to animals through the lens of #veganism -The past couple of years I’ve developed a rare opinion in that I don’t think we should be sterilizing animals without their consent. That sterilization is a form of #eugenics and that forced sterilization is #speciest. People get really mad about this in the #vegan community, but not a person has addressed my reasoning whenever I have brought it up. German men must be 18 years old to vote!
And this is similar all around the world or worse, in many countries military service duty is mandatory for men to EARN the right to vote.
Sadly many will be forced to harm other human beings, else they could face military "justice", a "traitor" can't vote, only "true" citizens may.
In the actual event of war many will die or return traumatized and be discarded by society.
Some people justify male suffering but men are human beings.

A 31-year-old Georgia woman has charged with murder by police who say she took pills to induce an abortion. Alexia Moore has been jailed in Camden County since March 4. An arrest warrant obtained by a police investigator says Moore arrived at a hospital Dec. 30 complaining of abdominal pain and told medical staff she had taken a drug used in medical abortions. The warrant says the fetus survived about an hour after being delivered. A 2019 Georgia law 2019 bans abortion after embryonic cardiac activity can be detected, typically about six weeks into a pregnancy. The Georgia Public Defender Council, which is representing Moore, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
the court will be asked to decide the constitutional merits of whether Oregon may continue to protect some children from medically unnecessary genital cutting while denying the same protection to others.
