It took me a long time to truly appreciate boar brushes. But I’ve begun more and more to favor boar (aka “natural bristle” or “pure bristle”) brushes.

Three Zenith boar shaving brushes

I have named the brushes. From L to R: Athos, Porthos, Aramis. A fellow Mastodonian commented on the quality of Zenith boar brushes — a brand that’s new to me — and once I looked at the brush…

@mantic59 I like the Antica Barbieria boar brush, but I do find that the Omega Pro 48 is noticeably better in feel (on the face) and performance. The Antica Barbieria does have a much better handle, though.

Give the Pro 48 a dozen shaves or so to break in. (In fact, for the first week I just load the brush, work up a lather in my cupped palm, then rinse out the brush, shake it dry, and put it away.)
