Is there any trick to make a CD image work with #BlueSCSI? I placed a 7.5.3 CD ISO on it, it’s recognized properly according to the log, but when any Mac tries to boot from it, a Sad Mac with codes 0000000F 00000001 appears (bus error).

We can't be at VCF Southwest, but that doesn't mean we can't still give you a deal!

JCM has #BlueSCSI on sale the entire weekend - steep discounts on all BlueSCSI assembled units through end of day Monday. They've never been this affordable!

Thanks to a very kind soul over on the #68kMLA forums who was willing to mail a working #Macintosh LC sound chip across the proverbial pond to me, I'm very happy that the "sold as junk/broken" Mac LC is now fully operational!

To celebrate this, I decided to do a fresh installation of System 7.1 on it. I had up until now been using a modified 7.5.3 based off of the pre-installed images available on the #BlueSCSI website, the same one I had been using for testing and whatnot on my restored Color Classic, but I figured going slightly back in time would help these old machines perform a bit better.

Sadly I don't have an original boxed version of 7.1, those seem exceedingly difficult to come by, so I made some copies and installed it that way.

The difference in boot-up time is already incredible, though I do miss the expandable folders in the Apple menu. Perhaps there's an extension for that under 7.1, not sure.

Either way; everything seems to be running nicely, including the Presto 040 clone card, which really makes a noticeable difference in performance.

Now onto its companion CRT monitor. Recapping it wasn't enough, it seems like there's some more components inside that have gotten damaged by a leaky capacitor, so that journey continues. For now, though, I can at least use a VGA monitor thanks to one of those adapter thingamabobs.

Right after I had replaced the sound chip and had the Mac happily beeping and booping, I actually sat down and played SimAnt for the first time ever (!), and actually was able to complete a whole campaign. I had a blast!

The new revision of the #MiSCUSI SCSI card for #apple2 works! (Almost fully SMD SCSI card with active termination)

This one uses CMOS 53C80 controllers (easier to get in PLCC format than the NMOS ones, tested several zilog and an AMD one), replaces the 'LS133 with something cheaper to get and shuffles around some components.
I was even able to test the fuse protection 😬

It's currently running some games on my Delta Apple2e clone using #BlueSCSI .

@DosFox I finished building your FoxSCSI card today and it worked perfectly with #BlueSCSI Thank you!

Pico-mac with audio has been published
https://github.com/retrotheory/pico-mac

This is for Pico 2, not tested on Pico 1.

Includes PWM or DAC based audio specify at build time. Its the same DAC thats used by #bluescsI cd audio.

Includes work on the submodule
https://github.com/retrotheory/umac ,updated for 464K support and patched audio addressing.

Mac Plus board booting 7.1 for the first time ever (since it never had enough RAM do it since this week) from a #BlueSCSI (thank you so much @onegeekarmy!) and running the things that matter! 😁

@arroz @_the_cloud @cdfinder @Cdespinosa @onegeekarmy You got a floppy to work!?🙌🥳 I just found that old dirty floppies may cause destruction of others - seems cleaning between each on might be a good policy.

#BlueSCSI is magical! It took me a while to understand the boot process. Finally found the preinstalled images. It's fun how I was able to plug into the back of a zip drive. I'm back in the world of system 6 before Multifinder😱 - I could run 7 but some files are too old to open there.

Finally got an old Mac SE booted with #BlueSCSI into 7.5.3 using a pre-installed image! ... With Extensions off🤨

It's “fun" to remember that SCSI is NOT plug & play.

Once in a while I get a floppy disk or a Zip disk to actually work. Some stuff is too old to work so I have to go back to 6.0.8 before Multifinder 😲😵
