Dianthus "spooky" for #BloomScrooling

Memories of autumn in the mountains. These Gentiana asclepiadea flowers were already almost finished blooming. They are typical, they don't grow anywhere at lower altitudes. When I see them on the way up the trail, I know I'm high enough. It's a sentimental feeling—I'm back in the mountains. Bumblebees love them, but they can't get inside. So they routinely bite through the base of the flower and suck out the nectar, which their long proboscis is long enough to reach.

I photographed a small thistle on my way to work. Sometimes I manage to take a photo while riding my bike. These are some of the last autumn flowers, and their color is amazing. This species is one of the most resilient plants here. Its roots can reach several meters deep, and they also have horizontal branches, which ensure that thistles occupy a larger habitat. Nine out of ten bumblebees also recommend this plant.

With these Sun Spurges it’s hard to tell where the leaves end and the flowers begin since it’s all shades of yellowish green, but the unusual shapes always catch my eye! #Bloomscrooling
