Back in Boston from Block Island and had an amazing time as always. I was able to pick up this original, 1973 (53-year-old) chart of the island.

The printing and paper are certainly different than reproductions; the yellow color of the island in the chart is really nice.

Quite happy about this, going to get it framed.

After a few more deployments up Corn Neck Rd I am now receiving traffic from the mainland intermittently from the W1OP-Tower repeater and I’ve been able to get out to the main mesh from within town.

The paths are going all the way up to New Hampshire.

I even had a few two way conversations.

It’s not 100% but it now sets the foundation for a more stable link to the mainland.

Moment of zen on #BlockIsland #RhodeIsland this evening.

Wow! Just did a #MeshCore test from Pilot Hill, the highest point on #BlockIsland #RhodeIsland, to the W1OP-Tower repeater at the Providence Radio Association.

45 miles line of sight over the ocean and land, the first successful bridging of Block Island to the main New England mesh.

This is what the hobby is all about! I was super excited and floored when I saw a message return from my friend Paul in Concord, MA.

I was heard in Andover, NH via 12 hops, which is a very long distance.

Block Island old movie theater.

Pinball for all

Morning walk on #BlockIsland #RhodeIsland.

Doing some #MeshCore drone repeater testing. Was able to hit the #BlockIsland repeaters in Old Harbor from the southwest.

That’s what a couple hundred feet of altitude and line of sight will get you.

Spotted around #BlockIsland #RhodeIsland.

Some Block Island atmosphere.

I took a foggy evening walk down Snake Hole Rd to the bluffs.

There’s zero light pollution, and no artificial light down this way, so it gets completely dark when there’s cloud cover and no moon.
