This probably could've counted for color week, too, but for me it's the texture. I love big, long slip stitches, and these are SUPER long. It took me a few rows to get the slipped stitch to the right length that it didn't tug at the fabric while I was knitting, but I adore the effect. It made knitting it much more interesting, too.
Pattern is Lincoln Baby Blanket by Lorna Miser, and the yarn is a simple soft acrylic for maximum washability.
The sun has finally been shining in my neck of the woods. Though it’s been icy cold. This Old Forge blanket is the perfect thing to make on such a day. The sun emblem mirrors the weather, and just look at those warm yellows/burnt oranges against the grey for a stunning and warming contrast. Stephen West has done it again with this pattern!
