Le curieux.

Alors que je guettais les passages à l'abreu-voir, ce mâle de rougequeue noir est arrivé sur un des perchoirs et d'après les petits cris et mouvements dans ma direction, il m'a vite réperé sous ma tente affût.
N'ayant peur de rien et étant probablement un peu curieux, il s'est approche à une quarantaine de cm de moi, sur une des branches utilisées pour habiller la tente. J'ai été obligé de réduire la focale pour prendre ce piaf intrigué.

Früher kam der Hausrotschwanz eher im Bergland vor. Inzwischen sieht man ihn aber in menschlichen Siedlungen, denn er findet hier beste Voraussetzungen, um zu brüten. Allerdings wird es ihm durch Haussanierungen immer schwerer gemacht, Nistmöglichkeiten zu finden. 2025 war er der Vogel des Jahres in Deutschland und hatte den Wahlslogan „Mut zur Lücke!“, um auf seine erschwerte Nistplatzsuche aufmerksam zu machen.

A couple of weeks ago we headed up to Sheringham on the North Norfolk coast. It was very cold but local birders were reporting a rare visitor.

The Eastern Black Redstart. When we saw it the Redstart was favouring the windowsills of a block of flats and a small neighbouring building site, not the best background but some clear views.

While we were waiting and searching with the other birders, a large black SUV pulled up and three fellas hopped out who had just arrived from northern Wales!

eBird users are still tagging it there even today if you want to find it.
