Just saw the movie trailer for Chevalier (coming out in 2023), about Joseph Bologne, known as the #BlackMozart of 18thC France, after being born into slavery in the Americas. Jumped down a quick rabbit hole and found this short YT video that makes a passing reference (~9:36) that Bologne may have also been an abolitionist that helped to bring an end to the French slave trade. Wondering if any #histodons may know more about this slice of Bologne's life.
