So, we're kicking back, cracking open a crisp, golden Helles Lager, and call it “yardwork procrastination research.” We think we've earned it. 🪶✨

More thoughts on Helles Lager by Black Raven Brewing: On draft or out of the can, Helles Lager produces an invigorated amount of shaving cream white head, resting on a pool of clear gold. Receding, there remain constellations of lacing inside the glass, along with islands on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of freshly disturbed hay, cooking herbs, a hint of honey.
Sipping, we get notes of rich earth, cooking herbs, a bit of freshly baked bread, and finishing with some crispness. Overall, Helles Lager has a medium mouthfeel, some alcoholic warmth, and a lingering albeit subtle sharpness on the palate mixed in with a combination of sweet and crisp character.

The result is sensory-filled journey to be sure. Brimming with notes of smoke, burnt sugar, cola, and dark fruit, this is a sipper that no doubt would pair well with a mellow cigar or maybe a copy of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”
