Vor längerer Zeit bin ich beim YouTube-Rumgeklicke auf einen neueren Song von Billy Idol gestoßen. Beim ersten Blick auf das Screenbild dachte ich, Mensch, Stefan Effenberg macht nun auch in Rockmusik, aber das Alter macht auch nicht vor Billy Idol und seinem Longtime Gitarristen Steve Stevens halt. Nun ja, der erwähnte Song ist von 2021 und beim Anhören wähnte ich mich wieder in den Mittachtzigern, Das ist durchaus positiv gemeint, denn ‚Bitter Taste‘ kommt absolut gefällig im Billy Idol Style daher.

Auch als Live-Performance wirkt Billy Idol noch sehr überzeugend, so 40 Jahre älter. Wer mit dem Namen Steve Stevens nichts anfangen, dem lege ich nahe, auf den Gitarristen in Michael Jacksons Video Dirty Diana zu achten.
