New Year, New Calves

(Story co-written with Loupy. This is a Christmas gift for our friend Veal ... I meant Dominus)

Loupy the wolf, Snow the pizzly bear (who Loupy called pisse-lit, which is bedwetter in French) and Dominus the eternal calf had gone on a little relaxing getaway at a remote lodge. They needed the break after the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Plus now that they didn't need to be nice for Santa, the three crinkle butts were looking forward to plenty of being naughty with each other.

Today had started with what was supposed to have been a nice stroll in the countryside, to enjoy the crisp clean air. But on their way back the GPS had lead them astray and cellular service was spotty at best. Totally lost in a valley they were lucky to see smoke in the distance that must be from a chimney. They walked toward it until they spotted a barn. Getting close to the farm Loupy recognized the name on the mailbox, it was the same as the one who rented them the lodge. They could hear someone working inside so they entered it to ask for directions to get back.

The fox in the barn grinned seeing the trio, "Yeah the lodge is a bit further away, but this area is so remote city boys like you won't find it without help. Let me grab something and I'll guide you there." He rummaged at a workbench, then before the friends realized what was happening he suddenly turned and shot at them. The wolf and bear yelped with surprise as the tranquilizers darts hit them. The bull turned to flee as ancient prey instincts kicked in, but he had barely turned around when pain stabbed his shoulder. The foxes marksmanship suggested he was well practiced at this. The drug was very fast acting and the trio was already stumbling as if drunk from its effects. The fear and confusion on their face was quite pleasing to the fox.

The three woke up in a part of the barn they hadn't seen from entrance. They woke thinking it had been a nightmare but to find it wasn't a dream. The drug still had them feeling sleepy and dazed. They could see the fox preparing a milking machine for feral cattle and overheard him talking to someone else they couldn't see. "These three stumbled into our operation ... Now they'll be joining our herd. What luck that they're are already used to diapers, we won't have to break them in for that part. Like all our 'special' cattle, we'll milk them until they go dry, I think we will get a good ten years out of them. They seems really subby, a little drugging to keep them docile and they'll be eager to produce our special milk ... and once they are spent they make tasty burgers like their predecessors".
