If you're into the circus, you could just follow me today. I'm dealing with a) scheduling for my shows for December, including what times, what personnel I'll have, and promotion and advertisement; b) dealing with assisted living facilities for my mother, including some profoundly depressing realizations about pricing, which also involves dealing with the family, of course; c) the results of the imaging I got on Thursday, which apparently still aren't ready even though they said they would be; and d) an injured ankle, which has my wives nagging me to go to urgent care.
Wife-3 has to get to the pain management doctor and it's killing me not being right there with her when she needs me (the downside of #polyamory ...there's only one of me, and my wives deserve their husband)

I like #hummus. I happened to be at Sobey's and decided to get some, though it's not where I usually buy hummus. They had this brand, "Fontaine Sante" (sorry, I can't type diacritical marks), and I bought the roasted red pepper "classic natural hummus". It's this one:

It has the usual ingredients you'd expect - chickpeas, tahini, garlic, salt, lemon juice, oil - plus the roasted red pepper. Nothing unusual there.
And it's ... awful. Not only does it not taste like any hummus I've ever had, it actually tastes downright unpleasant. I'm going to end up throwing the nearly-full container in the trash, and I *hate* wasting food. And no, it's not past its best-before date or anything like that. It's fresh.
I feel bad, because it's a Canadian company, but this stuff is inedible. The brand I usually buy is Sabra, but they don't carry that at Sobey's, plus it's American. I can eat their stuff by the pound.
Anyone familiar with this Fontaine Sante brand? Is it always like this?

I got sick a month ago. Took a covid test (nasal swab) and it was negative. Never went to the doctor. Had drainage for THREE WEEKS afterwards. Drainage is mostly gone now, but everything I eat and drink tastes like metal. Even water.
Like, did I have that new variant of covid that can't be detected with the swab test? Is this my life now? Aaaaaaaaaaah

I had a dream where my dad realized the damage supporting Republicans has and continues to do, and decided to change his ways. It’s a stark contrast from what really happens, which makes reality feel so much worse.
I ignore it, but even if he thinks he doesn’t hate anyone, he listens to and is a fan of people who hate and want to hurt others for being slightly different and he does what those people want their audiences to do.
The ideology of hate and lack of reason tears apart not just the families of its numerous arbitrary targets, but those containing both infected and normal people too. I would be a lot closer to my dad if I thought that he could be trusted to know the whole truth.
The converse example seems to be true, too—thanks to a humorous conversation that happened once, I know that my mother’s mother has absolutely no problem with me being gay and I’m very friendly with her now. (Did I actually post the picture of the cat with the Wii U stuff in the background? That was at her house.) She is a friend and ally to the real me and I know it. That goes a long way.
And he is a good person in basically every other aspect. I don’t know what to do about the conservative ideology that has its destructive hold on his mind.
