Radek Dabrowski and his life partner Lorna Hoefler Steffen love to travel. They travel by plane, car, bus and on foot to and through various travel destinations around the world. Chile, Bolivia, United States, Iceland, Italy, Thailand are some examples of the countries they have visited. After several years of photographing on the road with a smartphone, Radek bought a digital system camera in 2021. His first. A different tool, heavier and bigger, with higher image quality. But his working method has remained the same: photographs for his conceptual art projects and impressions of the locations he visits. Auf dem Rückweg haben wir bei #Roundwood noch einen See mit einen alten #Birkenwald besucht. Der See, Vartry Reservoir, ist ein Stausee: Im 19. Jahrhundert litt #Dublin an Krankheiten, wie #Cholera, die von unsauberem Wasser ausgelöst wurden. Der Arzt #Sir_John_Gray setzte sich dafür ein, dass die Stadt mit frischem #Trinkwasser versorgt wurde.1868 wurde dazu der Fluss #Vartry bei #Roundwood aufgestaut, 1923 wurde dann noch ein zweites Reservoir flussaufwärts gebaut.

Our project in Vörå (Vöyri) Finland is over for now (to follow the project see -> PRESERVED_ScheibeundGüntzel). It all went well and we are now on our way back. From Vörå to Karelia. Most of the time I stared into the trees or listened to the wind. Tomorrow we will take the ferry from Helsinki to Travemünde.

And we will back for the harvest of our rye field in August already.

Beim Abstieg vom Monte Castello, in der Nähe des Mergozzo-Sees, begegnete mir dieses Motiv. Ein endloser Farnteppich, aus dem ein Birkenwald herauswächst. Für mich als Fotograf ein Motiv, an dem ich nicht einfach vorbeigehen konnte. Der Kontrast aus endlosem Grün und den monochromen Birkenstämmen, schrie förmlich danach auf der Speicherkarte festgehalten zu werden.
