@amerika @vriska @shortstories @KuteboiCoder a lot has been said by u folks that can be solved with a ubi
>(kids) medicalized as having all kinds of problems that require drugs
do u think those corrupt #bigpharma and the #biostitutes workers WANT to have a job where they cook the statistics for #bayer, #monsanto etc, of course they dont the point is that if they WERE to become a #whistleblower and report the #fraud they WILL MOST LIKELY become destitute, and probably lose their home and partner. a ubi means that not only are they going to be mobile in the workforce, they may never have felt forced to get that job to cook numbers in the first place.
>there's nothing that can be done about it - first of all - because people don't want to believe there is a problem
ppl dont have time to read and research and learn the problems, but even if they DID, is a WHOLE other story to find the TIME to solve them a ubi would allow a person to step away from the treadmill and actually think. My understanding is that a UBI will result in a three day work week, in general, SOME will still LOVE to work 5 days a week, i think productivity (output vs time spent working) will be a bit higher too.
>dumb kids need simple jobs. Instead we promote them into management
this is the bullcrap jobs phenomenon ubi is uniquely targetted at elimnating. these jobs build up when ppl are forced to believe that #beingEmployed is EVERYTHING, they tie their sense of self and ego to being employed. I sincerely believe this results in a lot of white-collar crime yes, often DEVASTATING for LARGE numbers of people. i think under a ubi we can be a bit harsher on white collar crime, and give then ankle bracelets for longer periods and for the aggrevated cases i'd have a tattoo that says "MONEY" put on their right hand so they can't shake hands without exposing themself.
