Lee Morgan - The Rumproller
After 1964's The Sidewinder (which I thought I'd featured, but can't find) was a success (Blue Note's biggest), you can't blame a guy for bringing the guys into the studio in 1965 to record The Rumproller, a quick follow-up in similar style...with similarly fun results.
With Joe Henderson (tenor), Ronnie Mathews (piano), Victor Sproles (bass), and Billy Higgins (drums).

Review by Alex Henderson
"..this album isn't experimental or forward-thinking...But it's easy to enjoy if you appreciate swinging, inspired bop along the lines of Milt Jackson, who is one of Pike's primary influences"

Goin' West is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1962 but not released on the Blue Note label until 1969. It is a loose concept album inspired by Western music. It features pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Reggie Workman and drummer Billy Higgins.
The All About Jazz review by Colin Fleming stated "Goin' West, though nominally a country and western recording, moves us into the realm of folk music—bluegrass folk music and clippity-clappity cowboy tunes... Having said that, it would be hard to imagine Goin' West being a greater delight, a straight forward, unencumbered jazz delight—finesse jazz is a readily applicable moniker... Goin' West is an intriguing release nonetheless" - Wikipedia

New York City R&B is a 1961 free jazz album originally recorded at a session by bassist Buell Neidlinger but subsequently reissued under joint names with the pianist Cecil Taylor.
Writing for AllMusic, Scott Yanow commented: "The music is quite advanced for the period, although more accessible to the average listener than Taylor's later recordings; one can hear, even in abstract form, his connection to the bebop tradition and to Duke Ellington." - Wikipedia
