On a clear day, from Billinge Hill you can see the windfarm in Liverpool Bay, the Bootle dock cranes, and the cathedrals to the West; Fiddlers Ferry power station to the South; Manchester to the East; and, I'm told, sometimes Blackpool Tower to the North.

Today was not a clear day.

However, @huffeec and Lee and I got some good hill training in before the Ride to the Sun later this month.

Got out for an excellent 44 mile loop yesterday. Rode to the top of Merseyside; it's been years since I did the climb up Shady Brow, and it's still a killer. Great views across Merseyside, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire from the top though!

Could do without more weekends to book up, but this looks like an interesting event.

Plus it's being held at the next village over from where I grew up. I'd not heard of the Green Slate Farm project before, but it sounds great.
