I watched the first two #BillAndTed #movies.

In reverse order.

And they are so fun, yet also very clever with the humour. That's what I like about them.

I've seen the third movie, and I enjoyed it, but I don't like them messing the stories of the first two.

The daughters were good, but they didn't feature much in the movie. It probably would have been better if it was all about them, because much of the B&T vibe is their youth and energy, which the now considerably older actors no longer have. And that's OK, but you have to write a movie that deals with that well.

I expected the daughters to be all eye-rolling their embarrassing dads, but thankfully, they weren't that. They were kind of mini Bills and Teds and were good for it.

I know the original movies are a white, male saviour thing, but I don't think it serves the franchise well to try to ret-con it and make it something it never was.

And going through time and getting great musicians like Hendrix and Louis Armstrong, what is the music they come up with?

Coldplay! Fucking Coldplay!

But the originals were all about heavy metal and generally being empty-headed and the second movie even missed the whole Nirvana explosion of the 90s, but that's OK. They are all about metal.

Basically I prefer to pretend the 3rd movie doesn't exist.

I think I've only just realised that the antenna on the top of the telephone booths in the first Bill and Ted movie are the frames from umbrellas.

Debut feature from British director Peter Hewitt, who really should have achieved more. I loved his NFTS graduation film The Candy Show, and clearly enjoyed this enough to go back and see it two days in a row.

#Clueless (the movie) is memorable for having Stacey Dash at 28 playing a 15-year-old.

And Cher's monologue about baggy trousers was amusing having heard a relative make exactly the same criticism of some teenage boys a few days ago. I pointed out then that it wasn't a new criticism. I should tell the relative to watch the movie. (-:

But the thing that struck me, watching it again over 30 years later, is that the movie features (in the driving test scene) a bicycle lane in #California.

Yes, California like other parts of the world has had #cycling infrastructure since before WW1. It's just not something that I remember about late-20th century Californian cinema, though.

No cycle lanes in Frisco in any of the Dirty Harry movies, for example. I'm fairly sure that Bill and Ted didn't have any cycling through San Dimas, either. Ferris Bueller definitely took a car, and the Breakfast Club were driven by their parents.
