##Biketrip report!!!##

Context / intro:
+++++++
On the weekend my girlfriend and me went to a wonderful bike trip. We went to visit some friends we met at Fosdem 2025 who were throwing an opening party to their hackerspace, which moved to a new location. Since it was a full day event and we live half a days's travel away from the place it was held in, we decided it's better to stay over night to make the best of it.

Last summer I went on an absolutely bike trip with dear friends through the same region and i loved it so much. The Ardennes at the triangle between belgium, luxembourg and france are super beautiful. It's a challenging ride but it's doable and extremely rewarding. The landscape is picturesque and very varied so I feel very motivated to continue pushing. When i found out that going partway by bike would be around the same time as taking public transit, the decision was quite easy to make (altough i was very worried about it being too much for my body to handle).
I went with my entry level 1x racing bike i bought from decathlon a few years ago. It has quite low gearing so mountains are doable, but it doesnt go that fast in turn, which i think is fine. The bike is a bit worn out however... I really gotta replace alot of parts one day when i got the money. For now just doing some last minute maintenance the day before and carrying plenty of tools just in case was enough. My gf used her ebike. It really needs some work too... her rear breaks are barely working and i find it quite concerning but we'll get it fixed soon. Her bike has very wide wheels which came in handy on day 3 actually. In any case: we put all our luggage (sleeping mats, 2 paniers and a backpack on the back of her bike which helped alot coz if i had to carry my equipment i definitely wouldnt have made these ascends. Anyways let's go straight into the report now!

Thank you for cycling :)
A little smiley face for your ride. A small motivation to get you through shitty cycling infrastructure. A little happy face for a tough day. A small thank you for choosing your bike, turning away from cars, and being part of a more hopeful, car-free future.

Kolejny weekendowy dzień na rowerze. To nic, że było dużo chłodniej niż wczoraj, ale było całkiem potrzebne. #rower #biketrip #biketooter #gravel #strava #veloplanner #outdoor
