@ascentale

Today I was digging through crates at Bike Kitchen, looking for a decent kickstand. And it raised a couple questions for me:

* #LBS which build up frames are really cool, recycle hardware, and teach people to DIY. Do you know of one local to you?
* I am still looking for the perfect two-leg kickstand. Any recommendations?

Bike Kitchen is on #UBC campus: https://www.thebikekitchen.ca/

Cyclist clinging to reeds, plucked to safety in remote Snowy River rescue

The cyclist was clinging to reeds in the middle of the Snowy River when the police air wing plucked them to safety.

#30daysOfBiking what's your favorite spring-themed biking accessory? #BikeNitePQ #BikeTooter

I like this pole pruner for getting under the blackberry thickets that keep invading the bike lane with the thick canes and giant thorns.

@uneabeille

Sounds like the sort of thing that might come up in the #BikeNite questions every Friday evening (US Eastern Time). But I couldn't find anything quickly from yesterday.

I think they are run by @ascentale , who might be able to help.

Other hashtags that may be connected somehow are #BikeNiteQ and #BikeNitePQ

#BikeNitePQ: I think this is a re-#cycle, but a multi-part question:

* Do you gps track your rides?
* If so, do you use a dedicated device or your mobile phone?
* Is your ride data on the web?

A thing I found out about years ago: #OSMAnd mobile app has a plugin for sharing your location.

It requires configuring for your tracking service (I use a Nextcloud instance with a plugin to produce the secure API,) which was easy for me and fuss-free since.

@ascentale #BikeNitePQ there's gotta be a way to work this into a BikeNiteQ…

@ascentale #bikenitepq New brand to me. Maybe worth a discussion some #bikenite ?

looking at a 300km bike ride to accustom my brain to 15+ hours of pedalling, before Chase The Sun in June (another 300km event).

The nearest permanent audax route starts from Poole, 30 mins away by train. I can either train to Poole and start at 2330, first five hours in the dark, or I can start at 0700, and risk not returning in time to catch the last train home. 🤔

#BikeNitePQ what would you do? ("stay at home" doesn't count)
