Consider leaving a comment and attending this virtual meeting to support improved pedestrian access and protected bike lanes on the southwest side. These streets are some of the most dangerous in the entire city and the planning for this project has already taken several years as we face more fatalities and serious injuries every year. Join us virtually Nov 25 at 6p.

As more bicyclists take to Chicago streets, city says it's working to create safer ride

Chicago has had the highest increase in bikers across the major cities in the U.S. from fall 2019 to spring 2023, an analysis showed. But biking around the city isn't always a smooth ride.

I joined my first bike bus this morning. https://bikebustracker.bikegridnow.org/route/north-halsted I don't even work downtown. Just wanted to get some fresh air and enjoy the company of some fellow cyclists. It was fun and I recommend it to everyone. That's all 🙂

Sometimes I get mad about public transit infrastructure and pedestrian safety in Chicago. And then I remember it could be worse - it could be L.A.

It's a goal of mine to get more involved in local activism specifically for protected bike lanes and public transit. I just moved to #Chicago, so that means I should help build a @bikegridnow. I've been a big fan from afar, and seeing the number of #BikeGridNow stickers pasted around the city gives me hope that the grid is possible.
