@marcprecipice see also netnews (i.e. nntp). I think it is an error to eliminate topic groups. I'm interested in topics, not subscribing to people. For example I'm interested in #bicycle #bicycling #cycling #cycles #cycle #biketooter #BikeCommuterCabal #carryshitolympics #cargobike... But tags don't cut it (if people even use them at all). Sure, there's some up front work required to pick an audience, but then it's not shouting into the void, with better results.

Q2. Has anyone seen brake pads like this before? This is my second time coming across pads that look just like this (the plastic and brake material shapes) on a road bike. Look closely; those shiny silver bits? chunks of rim! I yanked these off and replaced them on my bike with Koolstops, but only after the metal bits wore grooves into my rim, ugh #BikeCommuterCabal
