@ascentale @LovesTha @Pionir @bikenite A3 - I have toe covers on my shoes when it’s too warm to wear a full foot cover which make a surprising difference. Other makes, models and prices available.

@ascentale @bikenite attend a show if it were an anti-ableist show for cycle advocates/activists. I'd love to meet more disabled cyclists. Spezi has tons of disabled people here, but I suspect many do not identify as disabled and are not anti-ableist activists.
I've spoken at CalBike Summit, but was unable to attend in person. They do not plan their summits for accessibility.
An advocacy event, especially mentoring folks in tactics and strategies, would be great.
@ascentale @bikenite track for a cycle show could be instructive, but it really depends on how good a job the programmers are doing. A workshop track would probably be even more useful, but then you get into more liability worries once you start giving people access to tools, I suppose.
I haven't gone to any cycle shows except (Recumbent) Cycle Con in the US and now Spezi in Germany. I'd love to attend the International Cargo Bike Festival in NL.
I'd also love to

@ascentale @bikenite who discover recumbents start riding due to a temporary or permanent disability, it's really important to be able to try and make sure the cycle works for you.
But there are also bags and accessories that are specific to recumbents because the frame designs can be so different from uprights. So it's a great place to find those as well.
#Spezi2026 also offers lectures, but I haven't attended those as most are in German and I wouldn't understand. A lecture

@ascentale @bikenite smaller ticket price. However, for peons like me, it's those smaller items I came here ready to buy because where I am sojourning right now does not have a recumbent dealership.
Shows are great for recumbent products for just that reason - most people don't live near a recumbent LBS. Even folks who do don't live near a place where there's more than one and therefore some competition. A show is a great place to be able to try before you buy.

#BikeNite A7: For #WaterlooRegion Cycling Superstar I'd like to nominate Mark Connolly @uxMark who has brought us @CyclingGuide
#BikeNite A5: I don't know of any cycling shows in or near #WaterlooRegion. Last year there was a #BikeFest in June which has the potential for growing into a cycling show; I'd like to see that.
#BikeNite A3: I'm not often out for rides in below 0C temperatures, but two layers of socks in hiking boots have kept my feet and toes warm enough.
I actually wear two layers of socks to prevent chafing, even in summer. Thin polyester sock on my feet, with a thicker natural-fibre sock over top.
I have some very thick goats-wool socks my grandmother knitted for me when I was a kid, but I probably don't fit them, and Ireally don't want to wear them out.
